I'm thinking about redoing my personal website with a focus on centralizing things I've written all in one place. I tried a Wordpress install and oh lord that's overkill x1000. Maybe I can make my whole site using ActivityPub and Shuttlecraft by @benbrown ?

I like the idea that each page / article / essay / story could be found, liked, or boosted by anyone on Mastodon / Fediverse. And there's the notion of article comments being built-in too.

I also like the idea of a lightweight Node.js codebase that I can mess with. Ultimately I want my personal website to be flat-files that can be easily cached or backed-up. And I imagine I could hack that into Shuttlecraft.

One downside is that I can't easily "police" the comments people make to a post, and maybe that's just a feature that ActivityPub needs? I could at least control which comments show up when viewing my own website.

@patrickmcurry@mastodon.social you can always block people or delete them out of your own instance?
